Logitech Squeezebox Duet Uncommon Issues and Solutions
ISSUE 1: Connecting the Duet using Ethernet.
It is easy to connect the Classic or the Boom to either wireless or wired as in the device itself it gives you an option to connect either wirelessly or via Ethernet. Now with the duet as soon it’s been turn on it ask you to choose your language then wireless region and then choose your wireless network, no option is given for you to choose connection via Ethernet. The manual states nothing about this.
Solution:
Step 1: Connect the Ethernet cable (RJ45) between the receiver and the router. ( You need a router as the DHCP will automatically assign an IP address, You can connect the receiver directly to your pc but you need a cross cable and you need to assign a static IP)
Step 2: Turn on all the devices, the duet and router
Step 3: Press and hold the button on the front of the receiver until the light flashes red
Step 4: Reset your duet controller
Step 5: Now it gets a bit tricky, You will get the option to connect the controller either to a Wireless network or directly to the Receiver. Choose your wireless network and put in your password. (If there is no wireless network to be selected the duet will automatically go to step 6)
Step 6: Once that is set up the Controller will start to set up the Receiver. It will display the last few digits of its MAC address. When you select it, it will give you the option to choose between a wired and wireless connection for the Receiver. So this is when you choose the Ethernet connection if you prefer to connect it via cable.
If the option does not appear then there is a problem with the wired connection between the router and the Receiver. If possible try a different cable and make sure the plug is seated properly in the socket at each end.
ISSUE 2: Adjusting Time/ Hour on the Duet controller
Answer : You can’t as the controller does not give you an option to adjust the time, the time is taken by the server (pc time)
Question: That is odd, as the time on my PC is 9.30 but the time on my duet it 9.45
Answer: Are you connecting your device through a NAS system ?
Question: Yes, I am using a netgear NAS
Answer: Restart the Duet controller. Once the controller re-sync, the time will be correct.
